Tripp Corbin, GISP

Tripp Corbin, GISP is the CEO and a cofounder of eGIS Associates, Inc. He has over 20 years of surveying, mapping, and GIS-related experience. He is recognized as an industry expert with a variety of geospatial software packages, including Esri, Autodesk, and Trimble products. He holds multiple certifications, including Microsoft Certified Professional, Certified Floodplain Manager, Certified GIS Professional, CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer, Esri Certified Enterprise System Design Associate, and Esri Certified Desktop Professional. During the course of his career, Tripp has assisted many private and public organizations to implement and maintain GIS solutions. Cities and counties have relied on his expertise to help them make the transition from hard copy maps into the digital world of GIS. Private companies, including engineering, surveying, planning, and forestry, often seek Tripp's experience to help them in various projects. Tripp's knowledge of GIS and surveying along with the ability to use multiple software packages has proven to be an invaluable asset. As a GIS instructor, Tripp has taught students worldwide the power of GIS. He is a GIS instructor for the Institute for Transportation Research and Education at North Carolina State University, the Continuing Studies Center at University of North Alabama, and Davidson County Community College. Other contributions Tripp has made to the GIS Profession include helping to draft the Geospatial Technology Competency Model that was adopted by the US Department of Labor and providing help to other GIS Professionals around the world on various blogs, lists, and forums. In recognition of his contributions, he has received several awards, including the URISA Exemplary Leadership Award and the Barbara Hirsch Special Service Award.

Great book to start learning ArcGIS Pro

I was a technical reviewer for this book, and enjoyed reading and reviewing it.

It's presented in a workbook type format with step-by-step instructions and explanations throughout the chapters. It familiarizes the reader with the new modern ribbon interface, and goes through the different tools (analysis, automation, etc) and capabilities (projects, tasks, etc) of the software. This will benefit users who are new to the platform, and want to learn how to get started.

Tripp does an excellent job showing what ArcGIS Pro is capable of and how to get started creating your own projects.

Excellent quality with quality material coverage, practical, concise, and organized. The book was easy to follow along and the common tasks covered are most likely the highest used features. The book is worth it if your looking to get started with ArcGIS, even after going over the book you'll find yourself going back over it if you're anything like me. Highly recommend this book.

For anyone who wants to understand the game…

I am a middle-aged American woman who happens to enjoy watching football. This didn't come naturally, though. It took many, many years of being baffled and asking a lot of stupid questions before I had a clue about what was really happening on that field. Author Rachel Oliver has written a brilliant guide to football for those who wish to skip the pain and learn the basics so that they can finally join in the fun, or at least participate in the office conversation. Oliver covers it all, from the basic rules, offense and defense, to some more complex ideas for those who are interested. An excellent read an one where I actually learned a few new things. Highly recommended. (The opinions given in this review are 100% my own and are unbiased.)

Corsets/Tight-Lacing Only

I bought the book because the photo and main title captured my attention. But make no mistake, this book has nothing to do with waist cinchers of the latex variety and focuses solely on corsets and there's a huge difference. The smaller print in the title is what the book is all about but the picture looks more like a latex waist cincher as opposed to a corset. Whether or not this was done intentionally in order to capture the attention of those into waist clinchers (like myself) which is a huge trend as of late, albeit a very old practiced tradition like that of tight-lacing but the waist cincher craze is at all-time high so it could've been intentionally done for profit, who knows.

If you're into corsets and the art of tight-lacing, then you will find this book helpful and informative I'm sure.

If you're into waist cinchers to reduce your middle, skip it because it contains no information on this topic and you probably won't find it helpful. I didn't. Think it should've been titled Tight-Lacing 101 or the Art of Wearing Corsets to slim your waistline or something like that in order to accurately reach its audience..

About the Author
Jon Stenerson is the author of several books on PLCs and industrial automation. He taught in the Automated Manufacturing Systems Technology program at Fox Valley Technical College. There he taught regular program students and students from industry. He has also taught and consulted in business and industry.

David Deeg has worked in a variety of industrial settings.  David worked as a Controls Designer and Field Service Technician for Trident Automation.  During his time with Trident he traveled thecountry working on ethanol plant distributed control systems (DCS), boiler house user interfaces and controls, corn grain handling systems, and iron ore ships on the GreatLakes. After working for Trident Automation, David worked at Neenah Foundry.  Neenah Foundry makes themajority of man-hole covers, iron grates surrounding trees on urbansidewalks.  In addition to the municipal castings, Neenah produces many of the power transmission housings found inlarge tractor trailer semis on the road today.While at Neenah Foundry David implemented new control techniques not previously used there.  David developed control and operator information systems that made it easier for operators and maintenance personnel to troubleshoot and adapt to changing production needs.After working on almost every major automation system at Neenah, David took ateaching position in the Automated Manufacturing Systems (AMS) program at FoxValley Technical College. David enjoys the challenging work industrial controlsand programming provides.  As aninstructor he gets to share his industrial experience in preparing students with the tools they will need to be successful.

Excelent book to understand this technology

Is an excellent book, a very good reading to who is starting with Siemens PLC technology and also to who already know it. I purchased also the other book of some authors, with the Orange cover: Siemens Step 7 (TIA Portal) Programming Practical Approach (https://www.amazon.com/Siemens-Portal-Programming-Practical-Approach/dp/1515220540/ref=pd_cp_14_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=WSDHZH7N8K92YZYDWW6Q) and didn't see any difference between both, they are the same book with the same amount of pages and the same chapters starting at the ame page, the difference is that one is a little bit more expensive than the other.

I have two concerns about both books:

1) the lack of a remissive index at the end of the book should help to find similar items through the book.

2) at the end of each chapter you will find a quiz about the specific chapter. At the end of the book, you will find all the answers of those quizzes but only for the even questions, the odd ones aren't present. Strange isn't.

But despite those two comments I recumbent the book.
